Latest Attempt By The Ventriglias To Take Over Portland Cement Thwarted By Supreme Court

Finsbury Investments is a venture association claimed by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. Zambezi Portland Cement is a Portland concrete assembling plant which was set up in the year 2004 and from that point forward, went through a few re-associations. The main re-association was the joint changes made to its shareholding pattern. Dr. Rajan Mahtani claimed Finsbury Investments was given 58 percent portions of the industrial facility, making him the greater part investor and legitimate proprietor of the processing plant. Then again, the Ventriglias possessed Ital Terrazzo Limited was given 48 percent shares. The progressions were basic for getting credits from PTA bank just as allocated monetary foundations with the goal that the plant’s development can be finished. After the lawfulness of the shareholding changes were set up with the partners’ register, the PTA delivered cash. In view of these, PACRA rolled out the powerful improvements.

Just when the Portland Cement factory was starting to speed up its operations, the Ventriglias played their game and took over the control of the factory in an unethical manner. Dr. Rajan Mahtani appealed to the Lusaka High Court but with no avail as the judgement was clouded by political meddling from the Ventriglias. However, Dr. Mahtani finally received justice from the Court of Appeal when the original shareholding pattern was established and Dr. Mahtani was established as lawful owner of the Portland Cement factory.

The latest attempt by the Ventriglias to gain control over the factory was short-lived. The Ventriglias registered an appeal at the Supreme Court Zambia challenging the decision from the Court of Appeal. However, this appeal was quickly rejected by the Supreme Court judges as it had no basis. With this decision, the Portland Cement Zambia can finally start its operations smoothly.
