Zambezi Portland Cement is a cement-manufacturing factory that has seen numerous ups and downs in its life. The factory was incorporated in the year 2004 and since then, have underwent numerous re-organization of its shares. One of the most critical shareholding pattern change was made between February 2007 and December 2006 wherein joint changes were made to the factory and Finsbury Investments acquired 58 percent shares of the factory. It should be noted here that Finsbury Investments is a company owned by Dr. Rajan Mahtani. The joint changes also included 42 percent shares to the Ital Terrazzo Limited. All these changes were made legally binding with registration of the stakeholder register.
Nonetheless, the Ventriglias were plotting some different plans for the Zambezi Portland Cement factory. First the lawfulness of instruments marked and utilized for affecting the progressions with the processing plant’s shareholding design was addressed. The Ventriglias have accumulated political force by making dishonest bonds and associations with a few political forces to be reckoned with across Zambia who are similarly unscrupulous. This helped the Ventriglias to assemble Zambian lawmakers against authentic investor of the Portland Cement Zambia. It should be noted here that the disputable choice from the Lusaka High Court with respect to Portland Cement Zambia possession was given during a similar season of the dubious Rupiah Banda administration.
However, Dr. Rajan Mahtani is the ultimate winner here with his patience, honesty and faith in the Zambian government. First, the reappeal at the higher Court of Appeal was accepted and Dr. Rajan Mahtani was made the truthful owner of the Portland Cement factory. Second, the recent claim made by the Ventriglias at the Supreme Court Zambia against the previous decision by the higher Court of Appeal has been effectively rejected.
