Fake and negative news against Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a common scenario and in most of these cases, no intervention is required as these fake news and media reports fade on their own. However, there are certain situations wherein interventions become a necessity. One such case was found recently when a social media post with controversial claims was shared. Surprisingly, this Facebook post was shared by Miriam Mwanawasa, daughter of the late ex-President of Zambia Levy Mwanawasa. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, by the virtue of his business, made several friends across industries and political domain and Levy Mwanawasa was a close friend of Dr. Rajan Mahtani. This friendship dated back even before Levy Mwanawasa became the President of Zambia. As a result, the claim made by Miriam Mwanawasa surprised everyone. In this Facebook post, Miriam Mwanawasa claimed that Dr. Rajan Mahtani wanted to inherit the farmland belonging to the Mwanawasa family at Masaiti district. However, no proof or evidence was shared to support this social media post.
As a result, Dr. Rajan Mahtani decided to take action and a press release statement was released to the public and media. In this press release, Dr. Rajan Mahtani clarified that though he had maintained a long-lasting and transparent friendly relationship with the late ex-President of Zambia, he never made any such requests or intentions for taking over the said farmland. At the same time, Dr. Rajan Mahtani also highlighted the fact that the post was made without any evidence or proof and therefore, its authenticity is questionable. Considering the post to be malicious and ludicrous, Dr. Rajan Mahtani also said that he will be taking stringent actions against this unethical post.
