It is of no doubt that Dr. Rajan Mahtani remains one of the few businessmen in Zambia who have maintained a transparent and honest business path for the past three decades. Despite facing numerous challenges, Dr. Mahtani never resorted to any unethical channel or malpractice and instead, relied on the efficiency of the Zambian legal and judiciary system. However, this has presented Dr. Mahtani with numerous challenges, especially in the case of Zambezi Portland Cement. After losing the case at the Lusaka High Court in a very controversial manner, Dr. Rajan Mahtani resorted to higher Court of Appeal, seeking justice.

The judge who gave the final verdict on the Portland Cement Zambia case on behalf of higher Court of Appeal was justice Mwinde. With his track record, Justice Mwinde declared the final verdict in just nine months. This verdict was achieved based on evidences, testimonials and other details shared to the court. While giving the verdict, justice Mwinde also shared the evidences which helped him come to a conclusive judgement. For instance, it was found that Dr. Rajan Mahtani via his company Finsbury Investments paid one billion kwachas for the transfer of 58 percent shares of Portland Cement to his company. It was also found that the original agreement between shareholders established in the year 2007 already declared Dr. Rajan Mahtani as the majority shareholder and owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory. Furthermore, justice Mwinde also clear all charges of forgery and unethical practices and declared all cases of unethically forging signatures to be invalid as the practice was common and accepted at the Zambezi Portland Cement. Based on these critical evidences, it is clearly established that Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the only and actual owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.
